Tarangire is well known for its large elephant herds. From the open roof of your vehicle, you will experience the park's diverse landscapes, including seasonal swamps, savannah, and the Tarangire River. You'll search for animals such as zebras, wildebeest, buffaloes, elephants, and giraffes. You may also spot lions or leopards relaxing in the trees.
After an extensive game drive, you will enjoy lunch at a scenic picnic site inside the park. Later, you will be driven to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast, you will continue your journey towards the fertile highlands, where the Iraqw people cultivate crops such as coffee, corn, and wheat. As you pass through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, you will witness the stunning beauty of the Ngorongoro Crater, a natural wonder formed millions of years ago by the explosion of a volcano. The breathtaking expanse of the Ngorongoro Caldera will leave you in awe.
Your journey continues onwards to the Serengeti National Park, known as the "Endless Plain" in the Maa language of the Maasai. You will arrive by midday. The Serengeti is one of the largest parks in Tanzania, boasting diverse landscapes and habitats, including grassy plains, swamps, lakes, savannah, and mountains. It is here that the great wildebeest and zebra migration takes place. Depending on the season, you may have the chance to witness thousands of animals on their search for food and water.
After an extensive game drive, you will head to your campsite, where you will enjoy dinner and an overnight stay under the vast African sky.
The entire day is dedicated to further exploration of the Serengeti National Park with game drives, carrying packed lunch boxes. The Serengeti is home to an incredible variety of wildlife, including wildebeest, elephants, impalas, buffalo, crocodiles, and hippos. However, it is most famous for its massive migrating herds of zebras and wildebeest.
The migration pattern of these animals is influenced by rainfall and varies annually. From November to December, the herds move from the northern region, characterized by woodlands and hills, to the grassy plains of the south (Ndutu Area). During the longer rainy season from April to June, they return north.
In addition to the migrating herds, you may also encounter predators such as leopards, cheetahs, and lions, often lurking nearby. After an unforgettable day of game drives, you will return to your campsite for dinner and an overnight stay.
After an early breakfast, you will head out for another game drive in the Serengeti National Park. This is your chance to spot the "Big Five" – lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard – before continuing your journey to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The animals roam freely through the unfenced reserves, offering you an uninterrupted game-viewing experience.
As you arrive at the edge of the Ngorongoro Crater, you will catch your first glimpse of the breathtaking landscape that awaits you the following day. The crater is a natural wonder, with glistening streams, open grasslands, and an abundance of wildlife.
You will spend the night at a campsite or lodge located directly on the crater's rim. As the sun sets, the sky will be painted with an orange glow, creating a magical atmosphere as you drift off to sleep, surrounded by the beauty of nature.
After a hearty breakfast, you will drive down the adventurous track into the Ngorongoro Crater, carrying a picnic lunch. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is one of the seven wonders of Africa and one of the most incredible ecosystems on Earth, formed millions of years ago by the explosion of a volcano. The crater is approximately 610 meters deep and covers an area of about 260 square kilometers.
The Ngorongoro Crater is home to a dense population of wildlife, with around 25,000 animals. Within minutes of entering the crater, you will likely spot wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, elephants, and over 500 bird species. If you're lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of the endangered black rhino grazing in the grasslands.
After enjoying your picnic lunch in this stunning setting, you will ascend the steep walls of the crater and head to your campsite or lodge for dinner and an overnight stay, reflecting on the unforgettable experiences of the day.
After breakfast, you will drive to your final destination on this epic safari, Lake Manyara National Park. This relatively small but diverse park is located about 120 kilometers west of Arusha. After an extensive game drive through the park, you will head back to Arusha or Kilimanjaro International Airport, ready for your flight or onward journey to another destination.
Lake Manyara National Park is renowned for its varied landscapes, legendary tree-climbing lions, and the expansive Soda Lake, which covers a large portion of the park. The lake floods and dries with the seasons, serving as a habitat for thousands of flamingos and over 500 other bird species, as well as a variety of other wildlife.
During your exploration of the park, you will have the opportunity to see monkeys, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, elephants, and, if you're lucky, lions lounging in the trees. The park's diverse landscapes include not only open grassy plains but also primate-filled woodlands and baobab-dotted cliffs, offering a memorable end to your safari adventure.
